A screen shot from a closed circuit security camera obtained by Marvel
Confidential showing one of this morning's attacks in progress.
New York is in lockdown this morning as the unthinkable has occurred.  Nearly
a decade has passed since the terrorist attacks of September 11th, and now,
another attack has, as many expected, finally, occurred in New York.  This
attack, while nowhere near as deadly or destructive, may have a much harder
impact and far-reaching implications on the city and its citizens.
At 8:55 this morning, almost the exact same time as the first airliner attack of that fateful September morning, Hydra agents
detonated 6 separate explosives throughout the New York City subway system.  The MTA has stopped all city transportation and
Mayor Bloomberg has closed all roads and bridges within the five boroughs as well as all routes in and out of the city.
Hackers took over the Jumbotron in Times Square this morning just
as the attacks commenced and an unidentified Hydra agent appeared
on the screen claiming responsibility for the attack.  Sources tell us
that NYPD cyber-crime units are still investigating the source of the
hack with the assistance of the Pentagon.

Casualty estimates are in the hundreds and city spokesmen say it
may be days before all details can be released.  Though still
unconfirmed, sources indicate the stations attacked this morning are
as follows:
In Manhattan

68th Street/Hunter College
Delancey Street

In Brooklyn

Bergen Street
Botanic Garden
Sutter Ave

In Queens

Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike

who flew in to brief the President on the attacks.  The President stated that
the full resources of the U.S. Government were at the disposal of New York
City officials and that a FEMA contingency was on its way to the city.

Little information is readily available beyond the Hydra’s claim of
responsibility.  Confidential sources in the Pentagon claim that during a U.S.
Special Forces raid in Madripoor last year, a map of the New York City
subway system was discovered in an abandoned Hydra safe-house.  The
map was superimposed with the Hydra logo across it.  MC has
obtained a copy of this map and its implications are chilling.  At the tip
of each tentacle of the Hydra logo are the exact subway stations which
were hit by the attacks this morning.

Officials claim that they knew Hydra was obviously targeting the
subway system, but investigators and officials were clearly too late in
cracking this apparent “code.”  MC is still trying to obtain confirmation
that this map had been delivered to the proper authorities within the
NYPD anti-terror task force.

If it turns out that this information was not properly conveyed to NYPD
officials, this could turn into quite a problem for the Obama
administration during the upcoming election.

developing story as it is received.
